| Wow, when I asked which shoes would be good for me to wear, I didn't think it would get into a full scale debate... It has been very informative though. Yesterday I went searching for court shoes, and I couldn't really find ones I liked that they had in my size, because I wear a 15. So I am just going to order a pare of Li-Ning's, if I can't find them in my size, then I will just get a pair of D'Art IIs from Absolute Fencing.
Thanks for all of the help. |

Thanks for all of the help. | Li-Nings are not made above size 12, and they're still cut a little small. |

| Yeah, I figured that out. I just found a volleyball shoe that looks promising. http://www.paragonsports.com/Paragon...4&IID=24-BN407
Would that be a good shoe to go for, it is in my size and has an affordable price + free shipping. After reading another topic, I looked at the site that was listed and saw these. Any good? |

| Those shoes look very similar to an Asics shoe popular at my club. They may be the same shoe. They're very comfortable, I'm told, and the gel heel is so soft you don't notice it's not rounded.
But that's third-party info.

| I've used both court shoes (more than one type) and indoor soccer shoes. My feet like the indoor soccer shoes much, much better.
To each his own. |

Check out some of the top French and Italian fencers. Or better yet, Kolobkov. Epee fencers have some of the best footwork. No, it's not used like in foil or sabre, but that doesn't make it bad. In fact, the couple times that I've won or been given fencing shoes, I either sell them or trade them for other equipment. Quote: |

Either way, I wasn't underhandly insulting your fencing. Merely pointing out that your footwork is as good as it regardless of the shoes you wear.

Any good? | Those are pretty good. Cushioned, great traction, and lightweight. A lot of the fencers in my area wear those...

| We had a club competition night this week and I'd managed to forget me fencing shoes (I always forget something). The shoes I wear normally are Adistar Lo's, but the shoes I wore on the night - basic Adistar-type-things which cost about £30, compared to £110 for the Adistars - were absolutely fine and in the end I didn't really notice!
Anyways, Achilleus seems to have this pretty much summed up. Fencing shoes are fine, but as long as you're wearing shoes which you feel comfortable in, then that's the most important |

| I stand corrected on the ping pong shoes. Touche.
I did not insult your footwork, I merely made the comment the epee fencers are not generally known for having the most incredible footwork in the fencing world. |
