Biddin' fer a biggun...

How much lead time does the USFA need to pick its NAC and Sum.Natls host sites?

Depends on the year.

From what I've heard the USFA has bids for all national events next year and is working to firm them up and finalize the schedule. This seems a bit ahead of schedule from previous seasons.

If you're interested in hosting I'd aim for 06-07 and try to get the bid packet ready for early next season. Certainly doesn't hurt to be in before other people and if your bid requires further work that should allow for several back-and-forth iterations.

Are there ever any national tournaments in the northeast? Is it likely that there will be one next year?

Last one in the Northeast was New Haven,CT hosting the D2/3/Vet in March, 1999.

Oh, I guess that's not true, Saratoga Springs, NY hosted the last couple of January Youth NACs (2002, 2003).

I haven't heard of any of the local divisions submitting a bid for next season. If we're lucky New England will make a bid for a NAC in the 06-07 season.
