never again.
edit: what happened to bill? |

| Yeah, he does that.
And I have no idea, he just hasn't been to *anything* and rumor has it he burnt out or something. Otherwise, we may not have 9-0'ed UNH at New England's |

| well we'll see what happens this year. hopefully things in general won't go down like they did last year for me. (*cringe*)
and that sucks. happens to a lot of good fencers who start young. he may be back though. maybe college just got in the way. |

| Good stuff. With the number of teams that are boasting stronger squads than last year, this sounds like it's going to be a great meet.
Now I can just enjoy Spring Break, and look foward to it, heh. |

| Orin this year at new englands fenced better than I've seen him do all season, and better than I've ever seen him fence save for one occasion when he earned his B.
I think if he can keep it up and get the mental blocks out of the way he'll do as I expected him to do last year. Importantly he knows that most of his problems are mental and has been actively trying to work through it, in part by going to more USFA stuff to be able to more easily aclimate himself to a competitive mindset.
I'll be wearing a jamaican sweatband. Yeah.

FWIW, I'll make no predictions, but will be fully behind my alma mater. Had a chance to see them twice this season, and as a team, I came away quite impressed: good attitude, some good new fencers, and I was especially impressed with the confidence exhibited by the women's epee squad.

| If Rob Bralow is fencing (he wasn't last year, but I believe was when we visited Northwestern this January) I'd tag him as most likely to win ME individuals.
Charlie (saw him fencing at MACFA's) and Emily (at NIWFA's) both look to be doing well. I think that the foil pools are likely to have a lot of competition. UMass will be returning a medalist in each looking to challenge for the top spots. Other top people not yet graduated? New freshmen likely to make a splash? If I had to guess I'd say MF and WF are going to be the two most interesting finals pools to watch with a number of strong fencers from a variety of schools.
It'll be interesting being there with Temple rather than UMass.
Two more weeks....

| i dunno.
i gotta tell you, ME looks to be pretty strong this year, if these stories you're telling me are correct.
joel katz from navy is quite good.
dunno if bruce vail is coming back, but he's pretty good too.
orin, rob (no bill though), i dunno who else, but there's going to be quite a fight for A strip finalists. |

| My understanding is that Bruce is now graduated and attending NYU Law so is no longer at a USACFC school.

Hmm. If you were fencing A strip two years, we've fenced before. I wonder who won.

| if it was the first year, i distinctly remember it.
why?
there was a problem with someone's equipment and in the process of checking it, the referee unplugged my side's floor cord from the box and didn't replug it back in. score was 3-2 me, before the checking process. my fault for not asking for a test, though, i knew something was up and was getting frustrated over it. :-/ good bout, though i'd only been fencing epee for 2 months
found out the problem because in the next bout, first women's bout, the girls light wouldn't go off for anything and the ref finally found the problem.
p.s.: that ref was an idiot, did other similar things throughout the day. |

I don't remember the bout at all.
BTW... anyone have results from the first year?

-w | I know that since he fenced for a club team before he would still have time left for NCAA eligibility, but how long does he have left?
I assume now that he will exceed the age limit before he expends all of his eligibility?

| It used to be. I tried looking for it and couldn't find it. Maybe I just don't have skills.
