| It may sound like a broken record by now, but congrats to Army for taking top 6 weapon team. They really deserved it. And congrats to Northwestern for pulling out with the top men's team. That was pretty intense.
I really wanted to win the C-strip in men's foil, probably a little too much. I was way too nervous about fencing on the first day, and dropped three. I was more relaxed the next day where I went undefeated, but I've been kicking myself since the meet, since I missed out the semi-finals based on indicators. I know it's not healthy to go over all the points that could have been, but it's hard not too. It was a good time though. And interesting to put faces to some of the non-northeast names i see on here, heh.
Dartmouth did pretty well, all-in-all. Dropped a lot to UMass and Michigan, but won most of the bouts against Army and Northwestern, so it was definitely a respectable performance. And I was really excited with how our sabre squad did. Good end to a great year for us.
So you guys got the gnome back already? How dissapointing. |

We got it back immediately after the awards ceremony.

| I was bad and discovered that I should prolly switch to another weapon while I had the chance. Nerves and just sheer intimidation got to me on the first part, being as it was only my 3rd or 4th tourney and my second big one (next to the Temple Open). Also weapons problems and the fact that a right-handed epee enjoys making crater's in the knuckles of your left hand...but i'm happy overall. Great experience!
And btw, the gnome heist was awesome, and being as i'm from Temple, brought a great amount of pride and team unity when it was needed. Umass, you guys were awesome, and I hope you enjoyed the heist as much as we did! |

-m | Yeah, I figured that would happen, but I was kinda hoping someone would go to Europe with it and send back ransom notes with pictures. Kind of like in Amelie, but funnier. |

| So since my entire team disappeared before the awards ceremony, did any of you UMass kids get pictures of the foil individual medalists?
In desperate need to see how atrocious I looked by the end of it all. |

| Vi/Ben took these ones: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/holly1...r=6993&.src=ph
Number 72 is the one you were looking for Mike... though you kind of got washed out by reflector-man next to you.
Number 70 is the womens foil individual finalists... if Katie wants that picture.

Reason: Not capitalizing Mike's name might make him cry.

| I happened to attend the USACFCs this year as my first tourny ever. I think I did alright, considering I've fenced less than one year, have no coach (MTU has a student-run club), and I switched to epee 2 months ago . I won 5 bouts on C-strip, including one amazing 5-4 bout against Purdues' Fogle (awesome bout, man!). I'm mostly just glad that I learned the fencing styles of more than 3 other people.
Too bad I missed most of the hijinx, although I did predict the riots. One of my friends tried to get teargassed, but arrived too late. |

Crap all. | well im sorry you are so pouty about not getting third. well hey i acknowledge that you are a good fencer and i admit you did soundly beat me in the individual event, but hey ive got back problems and after two days of nonstop fencing i cant really move, dont pat yourself on the back too much, i lost to alot of people in the individual event that i beat in pools, i only had two losses before that event. so why dont you just get better and then you can come beat me when im not half-crippled next year so you dont have to whine about what you should have done. |

Never meant to imply anything other than you were a plenty good fencer - Just frustrated at our very narrow defeat is all. No hard feelin's one way or the other holmes. Congratulations on you and your squads success and good luck next year |
