Tip replacement problems!

Hey all;

Some time ago, the tip on my epee went flying into the void. I grabbed a
spare one from someone in the club, but it didn't fit. The tip was too
big to fit into the barrel.

Now we _think_ that my tip/barrel is an Allstar, but we also thought this
spare tip was as well. Clearly one of them wasn't. The question is, which
one? Does anyone know which of Allstar or (most likely) BF is larger?

Thanks!
Colin

The German, French and British are the same size. Italians and Russians are larger.

Now comes a question, how much larger? It is possible, when you lost the tip, could the barrel have been deformed? The tolerances are so small, a little deformity will not allow the tip in.

I've tried using Paul tips in an Uhlmann point before now. It wasn't a
success: the diameter may be nominally the same, but the Paul tip was
too long even if I wound the travel spring right down.
