I was just wondering how many of us were in the chicagoland area.

Who do you fence with Hammer?

I'm curious.. how far are those clubs from the Loop? I was in Chicago pretty much all week last week, staying down at the Allegro on Randolph street. Is there a club around there? Do they mind another middling capability fencer wandering in some evening?

The Chicago Fencing Club is out side of the loop. We meet at the Broadway Armory (5917 N. Broadway) a block from Thorndale stop on the Redline train on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m. Broadway and Thorndale are the cross streets if you wanted to take a cab.

We are always glad to have new people stop by. We are a three-weapon club and we are there to improve our skills while having a good time.

On Sundays, we meet from noon until two at a place called the Discovery Center (2940 N. Lincoln Ave). It about half a block south of Wellington on Lincoln Ave.

The train would take about 30 to 45 minutes to get up to Thorndale from the Loop. For the Discovery Center, it would probably be best to take a cab, if you don't know the city.
