My First Tournement.

Hello, I'm just writing to annoy people;-) with ramblings of my experience of my first fencing tournement. I attended the Vermont Middlebury Middle school competition. It was ofcourse non USFA but fun none the less. I finnished 8th place out of 30 fencers(not that bad for my first ever comp.). I was the last member of my club who was still fencing in the DE bouts.

Something also quite ironic happened, after the tournement. I sprained my pretty bad. I am currently wearing an air cast. It's actually funny when you think about it. By spraining my ankle I should have a good story to tell. For example: "It was the last bout of day. I fencing this lefty and our scores were tied 9 to 9. As I lunged I tripped and twisted my ankle as she scored the final touch." But NO. AfterI was finnished fencing for the day my team mates and I were bored so we were having a long jump contest in the hallway(to see who could jump the farthest). I jumped the farthest but I landed the hardest. One of my team mates said he used to be a boy scout and might be able to help my ankle out, once I took off my sock and shoe he said only two words:"It's bad". Well I guess I'm ending my little rant, bye.

He Who Sees Voices,
Paul

Congrats on the 8th place finish!

Note to self: When bored during a tournament force yourself to observe opponents and make mental notes.
Or, at least take a Dell Music DJ with you to listen to some music between bouts.
