I guess the answer would be maybe. As it stands, how can ya tell what the hell is going on if you make an attack you think was solid, but no light came on? Is you hit too lightly? Did you miss? Did you bounce for no apparent good reason? Were you timed out? Who knows?
With the way things are now, it's very easy to to point the blame at the 'stupid box bouncing' every time an action doesn't get you a light - even if you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
So, if the direct attacks were fixed - I dunno. I guess that would be a different 'test' than the one we're in now.
