Zivkovic Grips Dont fit Blades

i recently bought 2 epee grips (Z and BIII) from Zivko. I also bought an epee blade(Wired, pistol). The grips dont fit the blade. It seems that the whole is to small, and the grips get stuck on the "hex" or the square part of the Tang. What can I do? Should i file it down?

I'd suggest filing it down, its what I do. Start by filing the corners, but be careful not to file too much. File a little, try grip on, file a little, try grip on. Lather, rinse, repeat.

There are 2 schools of thought. Unless the blades have exceptionally large tang. I would work mostly on the handle. Yes, doing the blade is easier, but when the blade breaks and you try and reuse the handle, you will have the same problem. Use a square or triangular file and press only when you are pushing, never pulling. You can do some on the blade, to make it easier this time and the next time do more on the handle.

A thing to keep in mind with the Ziv grips is that they are very soft and rather fragile for something made out of metal. Made sure, if you use a dremmel to not get the grip to hot while drilling it out and do not force the grip on at all. It only takes a little bit of force to cause the Ziv grips to split or crack and become unusable. Really wish Barry or Alex would make some similiar ones with decent material and quality control!

pah233 is on a distinguished road
I use the zivkovic K type grip and I've tried using a triangular file on the handle as well as using a bench grinder to take the corners off the square portion of the tang. The combination of the two seems to make a nice fit and I haven't broken a handle or blade yet (knock on wood).
