| I started in my freshman year of college, too. This upcoming year, I'll be a senior. I'm totally glad I've picked up fencing, even though it is rather expensive at times for a college budget.

| I started in college--took a fencing PE course as a freshman and joined the varsity team at NC State as a sophomore. Fenced foil 3 years, 1969-71. Then didn't pick up a blade until about a year ago.
I caught the fencing bug (probably like a lot of others my age) from Disney's "Zorro".

| I started fencing 12 year olds because they were easy wins.
The coach soon made me fence guys my own age, though...

| I started in high school and wish I would have started earlier. You get so much more experience starting from scratch when you're a kid along with building the right endurance and fitness routine. |

| Started at 17 on January 22 in 2004 - the day that changed my life. Been fencing 2-7 days a week ever since. Now I'm a coach, rated director, competitor, and completely obsessed with the sport. There are five events in my life which have been extreme influences on my personality and fencing is one of the top 3. I love this sport!

| Started fencing as a sophmore in college, but couldn't keep it up in grad school, so I had about an 8 year hiatus before I picked it back up. So glad I did. |

| I started fencing when I was 10. My dad was a sabre coach at a near by club and I always wanted to do fencing so he promised that on my 10th birthday he would start taking me to practice...and 7 years later I'm still fencing!
