I hope so. Every single podiatrist I've ever talked with always recommended orthotics to help pronation of the foot. The asymmetricals are designed to pronate your back foot. That can't be good.

However, the hi-top version of the shoe is symmetrical and shouldn't have that problems.

A warning to anyone interested in the hi-top Equipment model...I ordered a pair as soon as The Fencing Post got them in stock a couple months ago. I received them only to find that they aren't assymetrical! The soles of both shoes are designed like the shoe for the lead foot in the truely assymetrical low top version that's been around for a while. (No leather layer over the inside toe part of the rear foot!) After a few lunges the rubber sole was already separating from the shoe. I was suprised that they even attempted to market that design. I hope they'll correct the flaw, because they felt great. Lots of ankle support and really grippy.
(To The Fencing Post's credit- they refunded me the cost of the shoes plus return shipping costs.)
For now I'm very happy with my recently purchased PBT hi-top Fortunas.
