foil wire question,

sorry i can't find the thread where i read it first, but can you use german wire on a french tip?

and will i have a problem putting german tips on an older french blade like france lame?

The cups on the end of the wire are the same. But I woldn't reccomend it. Though most people can tell the difference buy looking at the actual tips(at least for foil). Many people look at the color of the wire to figure out what kind of tip is on the weapon.you see white and red are as far as the blade you can wire any tip and wire on any blade as long as the end of the blade is threaded properly (almost all are only some cheep chineese blades i've seen had bad threads). the most important thing to good point reliablity is to make sure your barrels, springs, tips, and screws match a.k.a all german or all french (or i've even seen this funky kind of german with screws like a french i call it chineese)

Actually in Foil they are not the same size. Some have tried and they have had problems with the correct spring fitting in. In Epee, you can mix, but Foil, keep them seperate.
