Who else could have pulled that off and done that good a job? |

Visually stunning, but acting, dialogue and story weren't that interesting. To me, she didn't add much to the role, nor did I buy her in the role physically. The best part of the movies were Lucy Liu, the anime story, and Sonny Chiba.
As far as better actresses, I can think of three straight away:
Nicole Kidman
Jennifer Connelly
Monica Bellucci

Anyway, I always found her rather odd-looking ( Thurmon, that is, not MP ). Nose too long and sharp, and something I can't put my finger on is not quite harmonious. And kind of mean eyes. I don't know, like all such evaluations it's very subjective. De gustibus.
I also have to snort at "one of the world's best actresses". Please. She isn't exactly getting the Meryl Streep or Judy Dench roles. |

| Voted that I wouldn't miss her.
But this doesn't mean I don't like her. Actually, although indeed her roles in Kill Bill were physically maybe somewhat unreal, I think she's not all that bad.
I don't like her looks though.
But she's cool.

| Amen. I liked her in Kill Bill and Gattaca, but that's pretty thin for a 10 yr career, no? What else? "The Truth About Cats and Dogs"? Yow.
As actresses go, I'll take Laura Linney, Jodie Foster, Holly Hunter, Judi Dench or Cate Blanchette.
