New from Arizona I've read posts here for a few months and learned alot. I've been fencing Epee for about a year and a half. During that time, I've had my knee scoped twice(from Taekwondo). I have a great passion for fencing and plan on competing shortly. Thanks for all the great information. -

Array Hey BOBP,
Welcome-you've chosen the right weapon!! A setback is just a set up for a comeback -
Thanks for the welcome. Epee is the only weapon my coach teaches. So it is my weapon of choice. -

Array Epeeists live in their own little world, don't they?
Welcome, BOBP. And I'll bet I know which club you are at.... -
Inq,
Thanks for the welcome. In Taekwondo I was limited to legal targets above the waist. In fencing, I didn't want those restrictions.

Array Welcome to the forum, and I hope you enjoy epee for years and years. Don't listen to Inq.

Array Howdy, BOBP. Hrm, if your coach only teaches epee, I suppose then you're a Phoenix Falcon?
(I suppose that's really a question, so much as a statement)
I fence about 15ish miles East at the AFC. -

Brian Thanks for the advice. One of things I've learned in life is you can gain knowledge from all sources (even those who fence saber). -

Array Since you stated you are about ready to compete are you going to the Phoenix Open? Even if you are not ready to compete in that big of a tournament, you will gain experience just being there. Donald Hollis Clinton, Jr. DHCJr@juno.com

Yeah, don't complain too much, I'm in NJ now and I can't believe how I took the AZ weather for granted while I lived there. It really is one of the best places in the country to be. Make sure you head over to the Phoenix open to watch even if you don't compete. Everybody has to believe in something. I believe I am going to have another beer. -

I lived in CT for many years, and don't miss shoveling snow one bit.
