You got the right structure; except that Fencers are never rated; they are classified; tournaments are rated.

1st What is up with that name?
2nd Yes, you too can fence with the world famous "nub"
If you have a few tools, that is.

I used a 3/4" x 3/4" x 3" piece of plastic.
I drilled it out at 1/4"
Then drilled halfway through with 1/2" for the pommel nut.
Then heated a foil tang and stuck it through to melt out the square part of the hole.

Easy as pi.

Seriously, one of the best things that ever happened to my footwork and strategy.
