    CFC Fence-a-Thon Oct 15 (Baltimore, MD)

    They still shoot fencers, donıt they?

    Remember the days of the dance marathons when couples would dance all night
    long for special prizes? Well, those days have returned again with the
    Chesapeake Fencing Clubıs 5th annual ³Fence-A-Thon² 2004!

    A fun-and-fundraising event to benefit CFC and The House of Mercy, the CFC
    Fence-A-Thon 2004 will be held the evening of Friday, October 15th in the
    gymnasium at Ridgely Middle School in Lutherville, MD at 121 Ridgely Road.
    Registration for fencers begins at 8 p.m. with fencing starting at 9 p.m.
    The Fence-a-Thon concludes with breakfast and an awards ceremony on
    Saturday, October 16th at 9 a.m. The House of Mercy is a charitable
    organization that has been providing after-school and out-of-school
    programming for the children of the Poppleton/Hollins neighborhood in
    Southwest Baltimore City since 1995. The House of Mercy provides a safe
    environment for children where social and educational opportunities are
    available for community residents.

    The CFC Fence-A-Thon is open to all fencers of all ages. Registration fees
    to be announced. 5th Anniversary CFC Fenceathon t-shirts will be sold. Other
    highlights include hourly door prizes as well as a raffle for such items as
    his/her bicycles and a fur jacket. Videos, music, food/refreshments, and a
    live demonstration of theatrical swordplay, courtesy of The Baltimore
    Shakespeare Festival (www.baltimoreshakespeare.org

    Trophies will be awarded in for most bouts fenced and/or
    directed. All bouts will be fenced according to USFA rules.

    The House of Mercy is considered a charitable organizations with 501(c)3
    status; 50 percent of participantsı contributions are tax-deductible.

    those who would be interested in making a contribution to the eveningıs
    festivities, those interested in volunteering, making food donations, etc.,

    Now in its 12th year, Chesapeake Fencing Club is a non-profit
    corporation located at 201 Homeland Avenue and provides fencing and fencing

    Having done this once - okay, I only lasted till 1:30 a.m.! -- I can highly
