Fencing in USAToday Today

In the 4/26/04 USAToday Sports section, they had a nice little article
about the US Olympic Qualifiers for Athens. It pointed out that we
haven't won a medal in 20 years, but we have a few good chances this
time around.

Unfortunately, I bet we won't get to see any of it on TV.

If it's like last time, the only fencing we'll see will be in the
commercials. I don't think any of the competition was broadcast to
American audiences.

I think in 1996 they showed some fencing in the "Top 10 yells of the
day" piece or something. They had some woman foilist screaming her head
off after a routine touch. Thus, I think the American public now knows
exactly what fencing is all about!
