Sad news about Albee Axelrod We received a call from Bruce Gillman tonight that Albee Axelrod passed away
today. Albee was an Olympic bronze medalist, Men's Foil 1960, a former
editor of American Fencing, and a lifelong contributor to to sport.

Re: Sad news about Albee Axelrod Thanks for the note. I used to fence with him at the Fencers Club, and in a
way, while acerbic from some points of view, he was also one of my idols.
Most people know of his Olympic medal, but Jeff Tishman told me something even
more impressive -- the year after, in the world championships, he went through
his first twelve bouts without allowing a single touch. That is amazing.
I honor Albie.
