| Re: Question on Youth National Qualifications "This year the USFA will implement a qualifying path for the Youth NAC in April
2003 and the Summer Nationals 2004. Y10 and Y12 fencers, who are not on the
USFA national point list, must attend at least one RYC during the season to
qualify for the YNAC in April or Summer Nationals."
USFA National Newsletter Summer 2003 Page 4 (Note this does not say SUPER
Regional just Regional)
To qualify for Summer Nationals Y-14 a fencer needs points in Y14 or can
fence in his divisional qualifier and finish in the top 30%.
To fence in an NAC Youth Tournament such as the one in Atlanta, he should be
able to fence in Y12 and Y14. Fencers in Youth fencing can fence one group up
from their age group or the age group in which they have points.
For example, if a Y12 fencer has points in Y14 he or she can then fence Cadet
in an NAC. For Cadet at Summer Nationals they have to qualify at their
Divisional qualifier if they already have points in Y14.
