| Any good fencing shops in Europe? I'm planning on taking a trip to Europe this May with my family once school gets out, and I was wondering if anyon knew of any place where I could buy some good quality, fairly-priced fencing equipment. We plan on going to Italy and make our way up to Norway and probably stop in England, too, so if there are any places that anyone knows about, It'd be great if you could share the information.
Also, there's also a chance we might just skip Europe's bad weather all together and just go to Hawaii and Australia instead. If anyone knows of any stores there, either, please pass that information along, also.
Thanks,
Tai

| As the vast majority of fencing gear is MADE in Europe, I'd say you're in good shape!
Look up the manufacturers and see if they have a reseller i nthe areas you;re going to, or if you can go to their main shop.
Germany (Uhlmann, Allstar)
Italy (Negrini)
England (Leon Paul)
I'm sure the Euros on this board can help a bit more than I! |

| Negrini's shop in Verona is the bomb. Paula speaks English so you won't have a problem with translations. There is a great cafe about three blocks away. Don't be an ugly American and expect a 30 minute lunch. This is Italy. They know how to live, so plan on a couple of hours for a meal you won't soon forget. Besides, its holiday. You are one lucky devil! |

Thanks,
Tai | For a list of fencing suppliers (and their addresses) in the U.K. then visit: http://www.britishfencing.com/equipt_suppliers.html.
Apart from LP, I'd suggest Duellist (in Twickenham) and probably also Blades (in Staines).
Have a good trip! |

| Hawaii - forget the fencing. Its all mail order from there. If you want the names of places to get a surf board or boogie board, then I know a bunch of places you can go. If you're looking for surf lessons then go to www.hawaiianfire.com. Its a company owned & staffed by a bunch of off-duty Honolulu firefighters. I HIGHLY recommend it...even if some of the guys did try to get me to wipe out...on purpose. |

| If you go to Hungary PBT has a shop in Budapest. If you can email them and ask if they can sell to you without EU taxes that would be good. Ask about the over 175 euro discount. If in Australia there is a shop in Melbourne called Alladin's selling gear. Also down there is a PBT DISTRIBUTOR. Or order from Sydney by mail and get extra eu prices. Check the net and find the shops or I'll post later after looking for you. |
