Array Saving With PBT, Extra EU Prices. If you look up PBT's site in Hungary itself, and can order direct over 175 Euros worth, you can get eqipment at low cost. In the brands reviews it gets 4 1/2 stars. You can do this in Australia not Melbourne however the supplier is there. Check with PBT by email and ask them where there suppliers are. If it is in another city ask for direct mail orders and check with customs for taxes. I will be doing this. -
Unfortunately you can't in the US. -

Array What some of us in the US have to do is call up the in-laws in Canada, let them know to expect a package, and wait until the Xmas or birthday gifts get sent out to not have to pay a 50-100% markup over the Hungarian prices.
I would be a huge fan of PBT if not for the US vendor. They have an exclusive vendor contract with PBT USA which means they can't sell/ship to you in the US. At the prices PBT USA charges, PBT gear is usually not worth the Uhlmann/Allstar or Leon Paul level prices they mark it up to in the US. I really wish I had not met and liked the folks that run PBT. Now I have a really hard time being mad at them for making the price of PBT kit ridiculously high in the US. They are very nice folks, and here I have spent years imagining hooves and horns.

Array Dear firebrand, what are the shipping costs to australia like? I was looking at PBT too, because it means I could get FIE breeches, jacket and plastron for 400$ NZ w/o shipping, which is damn cheap That comes out to be 285 US$!!! whoah.
*is seriously looking at PBT now*
BTW, thats the "Balaton" jacket/breeches, which is their lower range FIE gear, like Athens with allstar. I am he

Array An order in Australia means if the total 10% tax and the 5% shipping tax on the whole order is less than $50.00 then no tax is paid. Then It's just PBT prices and shipping cost in the post. PBT tells you how to pay, weighs the stuff... Fill in an order form and see... So orders over 175 Euros is free of European tax too. Get it just right or make two separate orders and prices are minimised.
I imagine the price of importing a whole weapon would be $10-$20. I suppose then a sabre would cost $125.00... You risk damage in the post or complete loss. I plan on trying this myself since we have no PBT supplier in Sydney anymore. All AUD. Similar Threads -
