| Do you mean hit your opponent with anything other than the blade of your weapon? No. Do you mean flying, spinning, kicking thingies? No. Making wavy pokey dancing motions with your off-weapon hand? sure, but why? Best bet, go with undulating belly-dancer motions as you advance down the strip. Not sure as to the effectiveness, but would make for interesting video!
Why, pray tell, are you asking?

| Well, since Bruce got many of his ideas from fencing (stop thrust, interception) I don't see why not |

| You can use all the foot work you want I guess. You just cant turn your back.
My footwork is terrible due to years of martial arts and kickboxing. I can move fine, and I dont feel any problem, but it drives my coaches nuts. I saw as long as I'm getting touches........ |

| You can use the footwork in wing chung, some of the hand movements are like those in fencing. Bruce Lee was big on wing chung, well as fencing. Do wing chung may help improve your timing. As far as the traps, you can't use the unarmed hand. But just let the record show that wing chung is not very effective against weapon attack, other forms or kung fu maybe useful. I know kendo is helpful. My advice though is learn and master one martial art then learn another. |

| Wing Chung is a form of Chinese Wu Shu (Martial Arts). It's a southern style, so it concentrates on solid stances and lots of hand techniques and low kicks. |

| i only know a little bit, especially the hissing sounds that they make:
yes!everybody was kungfu fighting [tadadadadadaaaa]
they were as fast as lightening [etc etc ]
i think wing chungs great, and i was really just making conversation, but i love to hear your responses: some are really serious and some are lighthearted etc.
"NO MANGO: you cannot move your free hand in a wishy washy dragon-like way, etc] i don't fence on tuesday, sorry that was just to throw you offthe scent which is part of the advanced school ofkungfu's secret arts. <img src="graemlins/evil3.gif" border="0" alt="[Evil 2]" /> |

| Gee Doug, If we knew how much you liked puns we could have started a thread at the water cooler (which is where this probably belongs but here goes anyway):
"I sent ten puns to my friends to see if they would make them laugh, but, No Pun in ten did."
