Array Your non sword arm... foil/epee Where does it stay? By your side? Up in the so called classical way?
Mine is usually up, but lately its been getting tiring (fencing too much) so I keep it by my side. Doesn't effect much, as i don't lunge all that much - and when I do, i can still chuck it backwards for balance(my arm). I am he

Array I keep it in between classical and modern, depending on how tense I am and how much I'm moving. If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less but to dream more, to dream all the time~Proust

Array Twenty years ago, I learned to keep it up (classic) but that always felt awkward. I usually held it behind me like a sabrist. These days, more often than not, it is in a more relaxed position trailing out from my hip. Victurus te saluto. Corrigia tua est solutus. I, soon to be victorious, salute you. Array I hold mine back near my hip as if it's in a sling. The solution to your problem is to fence another weapon. -

Array I started with the clasical way but now I mixed the clasical with the modern. The purpose of tactic is to conquer the enemy with proper war movements and actions.

Array In my case my arm hangs down my side. It's normally quite loose. The idea is to reduce the amount of tension in the shoulders - it's something that my current coach has done wonders to reduce. -

Array Mine follows the back edge of the uniform down my leg, approximately. The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -
I hold my arm up, in the classical manner, and I find that it greatly reduces the tension in my sword arm, funnily enough. But then I always was odd... -

Array I have it at my side relaxed and parallel to the floor, with wrist kind of limp (looks a bit gay to non-fencers). I like my wrist to float around as I move, it's like a wind-sock which trails my movement. (I think (hope) it looks like Golobitski's or Omnes' unarmed hand...) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WON'T YOU BUY MY TACTICAL WHEEL!!!???? -

Array I normally keep my arm up in the classical style, but lately towards the end of practice I have been keeping my non-weapon arm down. I want to be remembered when I'm dead. I want books written about me. I want songs sung about me. And then, hundreds of years from now, I want episodes of my life to be played out weekly at half past nine by some great heroic actor of the age.

I guess in my pants is wrong, I will try to stop that.
Actually, I find if I let my arm hang down it seems to unconsciously move up and forward. I am often reminded of this with a saber blade to my middle index knuckle.
Holding it up keeps me conscious of it position. -

Array I keep mine up like alains.... Alain, our footwork looks astonsishingly similar "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

I had my mom sew a strap onto the back of my jacket so that I could hold on with a death grip. My coach said that if I don't stop touching myself during bouts with it, he'll cut it off. -
