| Assuming you are referring to a saber with a captuer, where a wire runs from the "B" line (the small, insulated socket on a two prong, or the screw on a LP bayonet) to the center post of a BNC socket (where the captuer plugs in), there are at least a couple of simple, cheap fixes.
1. You can cut the wire at the BNC socket, strip the insulation, loosen the pommel enough to wrap the uninsulated wire around the tang between the socket and the grip, then tighten it down;
2. If you are using a two prong socket, cut the wire at the BNC socket and strip the insulation as above, loosen the "C" socket (the large, uninsulated one), wrap the uninsulated wire around it, then tighten down.
3. Replace the body cord socket with a saber socket, where the short is already installed. This is particularly good if you are using a LP bayonet socket (no wire to break).
No matter how you do it, the resistance between the "B" and "C" lines should be less than 1 ohm. |
