| Regarding all the bumps A user TrollyMcTroll is bumping threads to the top of the list by posting a message at the end of each one. This is an inconvenience to the board, it reduces the utility of the thread list, and it's also flooding my mailbox with notifications of thread updates.
These threads were all started by drippingwet. Is the message that drippingwet starts too many threads?
Let me say that I highly value drippingwet's threads, questions, and postings. He asks interesting questions, and (based on the number of posts per thread) often stirs up a great conversation. If drippingwet didn't exist, we'd have to invent him. |

| On the contrary While I don't necessarily agree with bumping all of his threads, drippingwet has asked questions about fencing that are either self-explanatory, too theoretical/analytical of fencing, or just outright stupid. May i refer to this thread, "Can you parry with the sword arm?" http://www.fencing101.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13590
If there's a foil with that arm, use the foil! |

| It's probably that 0_0 dude under a different name -- same level of idiocy and all. Can we get an IP ban for him? |

| Perhaps hes on dial up, with the ever changing IP. Dunno how that works in relation to bans, though.

| While I admit the bumping is rather annoying because it's flooding the New Posts list that I usually use to read through the posts here, how can ya justify banning someone for bumping the threads while defending the guy who started them in the first place? |

| I agree with Walter's post. Many people post on this forum and never have any comment or question remotely connected to fencing. Drippingwet's threads might be annoying, but they're on topic.

If a thread dies, then let it rest in piece until you have something useful to add to it.

| one of my RL friends who uses this board told me about this guy. While I would like to take credit for his stuff, I can assure you that I lost interest in this place long ago, and he is not me. |

| Whoa there. Ok let me just say that I haven't posted a new thread since the 28th and before that it was the 20th! Many of these revived threads, if not all of them, are months old. Why would anyone be bothered about threads that are months old?
I hadn't used a forum before, and I didn't know about any of this. |

| Though attention has been directed towards you, drippingwet, you're not the problem. IMHO. Quote: |

| As Walter said DW, don't beat yourself up. This is not you, this is just a troll doing stupid trollish things. You just happed to be his victim of choice at the moment. I don't think anyone who stops to realize what is going on has any hard feeling towards you at all!

| I find drippingwet's posts to be quite helpful; as someone who doesn't know a lot about fencing but would like to learn, I often find myself looking for an answer to something, but am at a loss for the proper question to ask. Other more experienced people asking questions makes it a lot easier for me to learn and understand which situations different fencing aspects apply to.
If everything goes well, someday I'll be able to ask my own questions... |

If a thread dies, then let it rest in piece until you have something useful to add to it. | it was frustrating me to have no threads that anyone cared about on the first page. I merely grabed about 5 of the threads that i had seen significant conversation in in the past few days without the help of trolls. You'll notice i only grabbed a few, rather than totally filling the main page back up. I wasn't reviving dead threads, i was bringing back up live threads covered in dead-thread matter so they didn't begin to decay.

I still didn't see the point, since you didn't add anything to the conversation ( NOT saying I am always posting useful stuff!!!).
And about 'reviving' dead threads I may have been unclear, I wasn't specifically addressing that to you. It was just a general comment.
So, sorry if I ofeended you as this was not my intention! *passes peace-pipe*
