| New Shoes I've finally worn out my BG Victory shoes, as I've put a hole through the sole after 4 months of use. I'm now considering the Adidas Asymmetrics, I've heard some good stuff on them, and I can get them for a pretty good price. Anyone here use them? What do you think of them? |

What do you think of them? | There are a lot of reviews of them in the product review section. While there are some varrying opinions on them, generally they are very well liked shoes, with the only downside being the price. |

| Every couple of weeks, you can find new Asymms on eBay for about $110-130 if you are righty with a popular size. If lefty, you could get it cheaper.

| If the Asymmetrics were such good shoes, why did Adidas stop making them? Anyone know why? |

| I just got the new D'artagnan II and they are pretty kool. I just need to get new insules because they are kind of hard. I haven't had a lot of experience with them (got them like 2 weeks ago) but they have been working fine for me)

| Hi shango,
By the Assyms, do you mean these..? (506r.jpg). They're alright, but not great. Quite comfortable to wear, but I found that the grip wasn't as good as others.
Now I wear the Adistar Lo's, which are really expensive BUT really nice too. Probably the best fencing shoes I've ever used, very good. Plus they're designed so that you don't need a left- or right-handed pair.
Hope this helps |

| For God's sake, why can't anyone tell me good info on why they don't make the asymmetrics?
Not that I don't apreciate your comments of course.
And I wish I had Kalivor's avatar. |

| Look, they're FINE. But... for the money, I'd rather spend a little more and get the Adistar Lo's. The Assyms aren't as comfortable, they look really weird (although maybe you think that's a good thing), the grip isn't as good and it wears out fairly quickly.
And yes, Kalivor's avatar is coooool I like davetsung's too! |

My guess is that the assymetrics didn't sell well enough to make a new assymetric shoe ... I'd expect they'd be more expensive to make than your run-of-the-mill non-assymetric pair of shoes. |
