Older man new to fencing looking for club near Delaware

Hi, I am a 47 year old male who has been retired for 4 years and have recently taken a serious interest in fencing and am looking for equipment (new or used) to begin with. I am also looking for a club near the Dover, Delaware area. My wife does not currently have such an interest but both my 20 year old and 16 year old sons do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good luck, I don't think there's much there.

Delaware is part of the Maryland division (http://www.maryland-fencing.org/) but I don't recall any clubs even on the Eastern Shore.

want to drive?

Go over the Delaware Memorial Bridge straight up 295 and get off in Cherry Hill. The Fencing Academy of South Jersey is about 1 mile off 295 (fasj.com). Of course, amount of time to get there depends on the time you come. They have adult beginner classes and they supply the equipment.

Fencing Academy of Philadelphia in West Philadelphia has a number of Delaware members (also straight up 95). We have equipment and beginner classes, and a wide range of ages at the club.

Well, he said "older," though older than whom is the question. He ain't older than me, for instance.
