My coach, BTW, is Superman. | I was simply using Aussie Rules as a nexample to back up my original joke post. Thanks but I'll take Aussie Rules over American "oooh look at me wear padding to stop my nails breaking" rules any day.
Speaking of stupid did you know that America has one of the lowest lieracy rates in the entire world in regard to primary language.
Now I don't particularly want to get into a flame war so I'll leave it at that.

P.S - The only stupid thing Australia has done in recent history was follow George Bush into the next Arab country on the list and then be moronic enough to fall for what all Australians claim to hate "mass manipulation of the mob."

| My Coach ?? Perhaps this is nitpicking, but I do not have a coach. I have an Instructor.
And he is pretty good. And given that he approaches fencing as a martial art as well as/instead of a sport, I would put my money on him "beating up" most other instructors/coaches that I have encountered.
More importantly, he is a fine teacher, and an excellent example of sportsmanship.
By the way, is there a tournament only for instructors/"coaches"/masters? That would be a sight to see.

| My coach's hands are 6 inches across.
He re-shapes masks with the strength in his fingers.
I heard that one time, this kid was annoying him, so he grabbed the kid by the head and squeezed and the kid's head exploded and he went to hell for annoying coach. |

While the "manly" Aussies are out proving their "manliness" by playing Aussie rules football, the "girlie" Aussies are all at home proving their "manliness" by satisfying their girlfriends.

If these guys are injured (which Aussie rules seem designed to do), then not only does the player lose out on millions of dollars in contract but so does the team owner. It's hard to score points with a blown-out knee or a concussion.
It's a business, my friend, not some weird fertility rite. The padding is to protect investment. Quote: |

| You're preaching to the choir, brother--I've already been saved. And all I can say is to shout, "Amen!"
I was against it from the start, and I can't tell you how bummed I am that Dubya got re-elected. Probably a function of that low literacy rate you mentioned...

How could that possibly be true? We have a public education system. Kids have to stay in school until they're 16. How could we have a lower literacy rate than, for example, any country in South America? Or the Middle East? That doesn't make any sense at all. |

His eyes probably shoot laser beams too i think. |

And the very talented individual who helps me prepare for the local tournaments is my instructor. Just semantics, really.
And, just curious, is there a masters-only tournament?
It would settle the question.
