| College club colors? I'm vedoring at the 2-day collegiate at UCLA at the end of the month. i have a chance to buy a sizable amount of socks (baseball kind...white with a colored top and stripe) and would like to get school colors. I know the UC schools like UCLA are all blue & gold, but I can't seem to find the colors of the other school...if they're on the school website, I can't find it (although UC Santa Cruz shares exactly WHY tghe bananna slug is the school mascot)
Here's the list of schools (a couple are only possibles)..if anyone can give me a hint, I'd appreciate it.
UC Santa Cruz
UC Davis
UC San Diego
UCLA
UC Irvine
UC Santa Barbara
UC Berkeley
Caltech
Cal State Fullerton
Temple (Philadelphia)
University of Florida
De Anza Community College
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
The Claremont Colleges
Whittier Community College
USC Arizona State University |

| Maeve...ignore him...thank you VERY much!
I knew USCs and UCLAs colors (living in the Los Angeles area, you'd have to be blind NOT to!), but the rest of them are nice info!
Now if I can just get the last 4...
Re the blue & gold trend in the UC schools...I read that it's because years ago, when the system was founded, the blue represented the Pacific Ocean (and also that a lot of the guys who founded the UC system were Yale alums, and blue is one of Yale's colors)...forgot what the yellow stood for. |

Make sure you say HI...I'll probably be in the far corner by the rollup doors, just like at the last collegiate torney. |

Yellow is actually Gold. Yellow is easier for fabrics, but the football helmets is gold. Long Beach State was originally Brown and Yellow. The Yellow Gold of the 49'r, which was the year Long Beach State was founded (1949).
P.S. I'll be at Sword Play on Monday.

-B | Heavens and damn my monitor. It couldn't pick up the subtleties of Cherry over the my declaration of Red! Damn the Dell Corporation for providing me with color resolution unable to perform the distinction! LOL...
Okay then, Cherry and White it is. At two in the morning, browsing college website spirit shops to check out the colors may not be the most scientific method of answering Purple's question. Actually, I started out with only the U of Florida response because it was the only one I knew off the top of my head. Then the UCLA, and so it went, as I filled my late night with this absurd task!
To complete the list: Harvey Mudd, Claremont, and Scripps all share sports teams called The Stags who are Crimson and Gold.
DeAnza doesn't seem to have any/much athletics and I couldn't find a color or team name.
Cal Tech is Orange and White.
Whittier College are Purple and Gold.
And at Pitzer College, they are the Sagehens and are Blue and Orange. |

| Hmmm.. the Claremont "Stags" team colors of Crimson and Gold? new to me. Each of the colleges has their own colors I know, since at Harvey Mudd the offical school colors used at graduation were Black and Orange (Halloween colors, I know..) But there are a couple of college guide listings of the joint sport team as having C&G as their colors.
Unoffically, the Harvey Mudd school colors were always known as "Infrared and Ultraviolet" since no one every saw the colors until they graduated.. (HMC is a small science & engineering college, part of the Claremont Colleges group). |
