    luckily being shaped rather like a Dalek my Triplette gear works well. the double layer sleeve is nice for epee and the jacket is very breathable and moves well. They even asked for the measurements so the tailoring would be correct (for my cylindrical midsection). Your best bet is to go to a big event and try lots of different vendors. (I don't really like the fit of allstar, thats me, others think they are the bees knees.) If you are using a Santelli stretch jacket then almost anything will be better, as the Santelli is very thin and light, great for under a lame not so great when getting tagged with an epee.

    I don't mind triplette's overly large midsection, but the sleeves don't taper. Unless you have wrists like Barry Bonds, the opening at the end of the sleeve will be far too large.

    Unless you mean that bruises will be fewer as your fencing skills improve.
