Buying equipment in Paris

Where can one go to buy fencing equipment in Paris?

A friend's brother is going there soon, and I'm assuming that having them pick stuff up and bring it back would be cheaper than buying it here.

for allstar it's in Bourg la reine, not the center of Paris, and i'm really not quite sure that allstar France is cheaper than USA, it's probably the opposite.
In Paris you've Prieur, and also Estoc close to St-Lazare train station (you've the website www.estoc.com) after there's cartel (www.cartel.com) .
hope it'll help you

I have a feeling the local 'tabac' may even have limited stock anywhere in France!

I'm not entirely sure where it is in Paris, but I know that Prieur have a shop there. I ordered stuff from them when living in France, and the quality of their kit is amongst the best.

Their website is: http://www.prieur-sports.com/ and their e-addie is vpi.prieur@orianne.com - so maybe your bro' can mail them and find out where the shop is.

Bonne chance

You're probably not better off buying stuff in Paris. For anything more than small orders, the VAT is going to be greater than the cost of shipping, and so you're probably better off just ordering internationally.

I believe the purchaser can get the VAT refunded to them when they return to the States. But it's been a while since I purchased something in Europe so I may have my wires crossed.

Emailed Prieur last November but they didn't even bother to reply! Anyway I went to Cartel and bought a few BF foil blades and many other stuff. I was lucky enough to be able to choose from an entire box of bare blades.

There should be VAT refund if your purchase is more than a certain amount. (around 100 - 200 Euros). Though I am still waiting for my VAT refund.
