[CFML] a sad day for fencing

Another sad bit of news to add on top of all the
recent sadness:

Two days ago, Maitre Gerard Poujardieu lost his battle
with cancer in San Antonio. "Pouj," as he was
lovingly known by his friends and students, was a ruby
in the world of sport fencing: a french master truly
of the old guard who treated fencing not only as a way
of life, but also as a guide for living. He was
tough, wry, and witty; he was refined, classical, and
clean. He brooked no excuses from his students, and
brought out the best in everyone around him.

I was never lucky enough to call Pouj my fencing
master back in my sport fencing days; if I had been, I
would have been a much better sport fencer then and a
better classical fencer now. Nevertheless, I was
lucky enough to have lessons with him; he was always
willing to give me time both during and after
competitions, was always ready with advice, and was
always ready with camaraderie. More than that, he
believed in me. He was never officially my teacher,
but I always considered him a mentor and friend.

The world of fencing is greatly diminished by your
absence, Pouj.
