| You know, I hate to say it but it looks kind of like she just ripped the source code from Sword Masters and inserted her own info into the fields and tables! Mayb ethere is a template out there that they both use that I don't know about though. I am glad to see that she is up and running. I think the competition should do US fencing in general some good!

| It's an online store software program called osCommerce. Highly configurable and very powerful, but it's quite a pain to modify.

| If Allstar made ANYONE besides Blade the primary US distributor I might start using their kit again. As it is I will stick with really cheap Chinese made gear for our club and continue to use LP for my expensive top shelf personal gear. Besides, I tend to favor LP more on most things, but it would be very cool to have a US distributor that did not charge a small fortune!

| Compliment to the chef Hi,
Just had a quick look and the site's pretty good. A lot of the (product) pictures aren't available yet, but the site itself is good - easy to navigate, quick to load, and generally well-designed. Well done |

Allstar-USA's site is up http://www.allstar-usa.com/cgi-bin/s...ge=1&cat=sales though I'm not sure if any one is still working there..................

| So what maker is "Absolute"? I imagine it's Chinese?
I hope her selection grows, at the moment it looks like either this Absolute stuff or Uhlmann, and nothing in between... |

| The division between Amanda and Mr Chen in their business is making decisions difficult for those of us who have shopped from Blue Guantlet for years. I feel like I am betraying Mr Chen if I shop from Amanda and vice versa.
Mr Chen has always built my kids weapons and knows what they like better than anyone. He personally picks out their blades. Amanda does like wise with clothing.
I guess it is time to shop at Fencingpost.

| Amanda's new location is only a few miles from my house, so I stopped by the other day to say hello and pick up a few stocking stuffers. She has some interesting gear.
She has her fencing bags made with oversized zippers that she says are much stronger than the normal size, and her "beginner's bag" is large enough to hold a mask along with the rest a new fencer's gear. She is selling a German made, one-piece foil guard that looks very strong and feels lighter than the Vniti.
Speaking of German made, she says that a lot of the so-called German equipment is being made in Southeast Asia, not Germany. If her stuff is German, she says she wants it made in Germany and the foil points I bought say so; "Made in Germany" is etched into the barrels and on the tips.
Her top of the line stuff is Uhlmann & Allstar and her Absolute house brands seem comparable to BG and in some cases are updated/improved.
I hope she does very well, it will save me a lot on gas and mileage to have something so close, not to mention the convenience.

I think I'll keep ordering from them.
