What's the best/worst concert you've ever been to?

Worst: Steven Stills

Best: My piano teacher's student concert, where we all got to show our parents what we learned!

Worst: My brother's 4 hour concert of various instruments, where even the TEACHERS starting playing. Seriously. And everyone there sucked, too.

Tough one. There have been so many good ones. And so few truly bad ones.

The worst first: For sheer fish-out-of-water badness, I'll go with Counting Crows opening for the Rolling Stones in a stadium back in the early 90s. People were getting up and leaving, or worse yet, just standing around talking and ignoring them. (The Stones, of course, totally rocked.)

Good concerts I'll have to break down by type. Small venue award goes to Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Medium venue award goes to Chet Atkins. Big venue award goes to Pink Floyd. Enormous venue award goes to Lollapalooza 1992.

Teen Idols-New Found Glory-Anti-Flag-Less Than Jake show.

Catch me in the right mood and I will geek on Less Than Jake with a fervor like that of a gamer with a level 50 anti-paladin chaotic neutral evil good half-dragon-half-vampire demi-god with a sword of apocyptic +infinite yadayada--and you just made the mistake of telling him you play D&D... that show was one of the best times of my life.

They are one of the best live shows around. That one was Made even cooler because about ALL my friends were there (the fencing team!) my brother lost his shoe in a mosh pit. We found a shoe an hour later and gave it to him. It fit, but it turned out it wasn't his shoe. Someone else was also missing a left size 10. Weird.

Best concert: It's tough to say... The one that I would have to say was the best was The Deftone in 98 at La Luna here in Portland. They played an amazing set and during the encore the Chino (the lead singer) crowd surfed to the bar, got a bottle of beer, and crowd surfed back to the stage.

Worst Concert: Less Than Jake & Yellowcard at the Roseland in 03. My friend got hammered at the bar and got cut off before the opening band was even finished. She then threw a huge fit about how she got cut off and got kicked out of the club. Never even got to see the main show
