    Sir! You seem to have misunderstood. It is multiple phonemes with a spatial split in the middle, but it is only one morpheme. Ergo, a single word in two parts because it has not had sufficient currency to have yet combined into a compound word as is the case with database. The analogy of "blue jay" would not hold here, given that "blue jay" is a subclass of "jay", whereas "loco moco" is not a subclass of "moco" given that "moco" does not exist outside of "loco moco"
