| Who fenced on Christmas day? Just curious - did anyone fence on Christmas day or did we all take a day off? Did you try out the new weapon that Santa brought? Did you think it would ease that bloated feeling after the third helping of dinner? Are you one of these "I practice every day - what's so special about Christmas?" kind of guys?
Personally, I stuffed myself and recalled fondly that it was only last week when I could touch my toes.

| I haven't fenced in a week! I've resorted to snow-shovelling and DDR for exercize, and if you know me, the latter should be a real shock... |

| Depends on what you mean by fencing My hub and daughter fenced their way through the Target store.
Their weapons were half price tubes of wrapping paper.
They drew a crowd.
It was an interesting morning...

| home-work I like to encourage fencers to practice at home if they can. Lunging at
a padded target, footwork and target practice (the dangling tennis ball in my case) which is what I did on Xmas day and most days for that matter.
I asked several people at my club if they do training at home and surprisingly
most said no.They never drill lunges at home. I wondered why not. You don't need a partner to do lunges or point control. Even footwork can be improved with home practice.
Hey, it beats doing half an hour on the boring stairmaster and actually helps you in real bouts,so I'm all for it.
Do the home routine when you can and amaze your opponents at the salle.
Cheers,
Marc |

It was an interesting morning... | Target? Open on X-mas?
I work at one (woo...) and Im fairly certain most of the ones around here were closed on Xmas day.
Or maybe they just wanted me to stay home...

DDR! the machine that i played at a lot at Wright State University has been moved. I R t3h n00b again...
I've really been thinking of doing a fun "non-fencing" activity with my team... i always thought DDR would be perfect!

| I fenced on Boxing Day. We have had an informal epée competition at my club on Boxing Day for three years now. Aside from fencing, we drink glühwein and talk a lot |

Or maybe they just wanted me to stay home... | Ummm I meant the day after Christmas, aka the 26th. I was thinking Christmas as in the general area around Christmas in my sleep deprived semi senile brain.... Camp started today so there will be lots of fencing from now on.

| I have not been able to fence since the Saturday prior to Xmas. Work, and the facility in which my club meets shutting down. I am going batty! ( Not such a long trip, but still. ) |

| urrg I wish
No fencing on christmas for me and not for the next few weeks
Although under the advice of a senior club member I'm practising my footwork plus guard position and a little lunging.
I started fencing just before christmas, and am really suprised how much I miss it now I'm half way through the seasonal break |

| Perhaps all salles should run a "holiday special". No floor fees during the 24th-26th. When you have to travel to the relative's house, bring your blade and make that detour to the local salle! That will work out any potential post-traumatic stress disorder that may arise from your family's emotional baggage.
Heck. Why not run a Santa Slaughter tourney?
Merry Merry!

| On 'Oliday I've not fenced since we broke up on 15 December. I miss it, but sometimes it's best to have a break and go back feeling refreshed. Then again, I do miss it... (we don't start for another week and a bit, aaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhh) |
