Array French Studies, with a minor in Education. Translation: I'm gonna be a French teacher.
So why should I take the French out of my sig? -

Array Cause it's long, and I don't understand it.
Do you know what's involved with being a teacher? I mean all the bad stuff, do you know what you're getting into? "What, really? I thought that song was just about a dragon who lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee."

Array I dunno... everyone likes the moon.
Wait - do you like the moon? Pound for pound, the amoeba is the most vicious animal on earth. -

Array TRH and Dan- Yes, I do!
Dan, want me to translate it for you? It's rather poetic, really. -

Array No thanks. I'm just worried because my dad taught for 23 years and nearly clawed his eyes out because of all the beauracracy. That, and students threatened him for better grades.
Despite all this, isn't it surprising that I still want to get into teaching? "What, really? I thought that song was just about a dragon who lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee."

Array Community college, but you see this all over. Especially the beauracracy. You'll be up to your neck in paperwork quite a bit.
Still interested? "What, really? I thought that song was just about a dragon who lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee."

Array Yeah, although I hate paperwork. But if Foster can do it, so can I.
What level and subject do you want to teach? -

Array Whatever, I don't really care.
What's better, scones or muffins? "What, really? I thought that song was just about a dragon who lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee."

Array A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at him and says, "I'm sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger." -

Array All stories begin like this
Nothing new under the moon
For a star to die out
Another star must light
There's more to it, but the first four lines are my favourite part.
Do you like it? -

Array Sure, here's the whole thing, which is the overture to Roméo et Juliette; I'll try to translate as I go along:
Toutes les histoires, commencent pareil/ All stories begin like this
Rien de nouveau sous la lune/ Nothing new under the moon
Pour qu'une étoile s'éteigne/ For a star to die out
Il faut qu'une autre s'allume/ Another star must light
Bien sûr, la pluie et le hasard/ Of course, rain and chance
La nuit et les guitares/ The night and the guitars
On peut y croire/ One can believe them
Chacun ses mots, et ses regards/ Each of his words and his looks
Toutes les histoires ont leur histoire/ All stories have their own story
N'écoutez pas ce qu'on vous raconte/ Don't listen to what one tells you
L'amour, y'a que ça qui compte/ Love, that is what counts
On s'aimera toujours/ One will always love
On s'aimera si fort/ One will love so strongly
Et puis, doucement, sans le vouloir/ And so, softly, without wanting it
On passe du coeur, à la mémoire/ One passes from the heart, to the memory
Toutes les histoires, commencent pareil/ All stories begin like this
Rien de nouveau sous la lune/ Nothing new under the moon
Voici celle, de Roméo et Juliette/ Here is this one, of Romeo and Juliette

Array Well, I've been working on a short story.
What about you? -

Array Just a short note to someone... I never gave it to this person though. I figured if I couldn't work up the nerve to say it, a note wouldn't be the best expression of what I wanted to say.
Where would be the best place to order a new practice foil blade? Perferably something not too whippy. -

Array Um, I'll just go and plug shop.fencing.net. It's LP stuff, but better prices, and although you have to pay for shipping, there's no minimum order.
I'm off to bed, it's getting quite late here, and I have studying to do tomorrow.
