| I've seen drifts across highways higher than my car and I've woken up to find that I have to go out a window because opening the doors leaves you with a wall of snow to look at.
It's tough to say... usually when it's really bad, I'm not trying to figure out how high it is, but how I'm going to get through it so that I can start clearing it. I grew up out in the country, and we'd get some wicked snowstorms. The wind made it worse in so many ways - you'd see grass in some places, and snowdrifts higher than your head in others...
Just this past winter, we had one storm that left chest deep snow in the driveway. Sometimes owning a Civic sucks.
Do you like snow?

| Yes, though I don't get much where I live.
What do you do in your spare time? ( besides fencing, of course!) |

| Well, I don't have much of it... I've got a few hobbies - astronomy, electronics... I enjoy welding but don't have any welding equipment yet... and puttering around the house, fixing stuff up.
What about you, do you have any hobbies?

| Yes, but they're mostly fencing-related.
Favourite obsession, besides fencing? |

| I'm a big believer in shelter and food.
If you were going to be put into a forest to survive by yourself for a year and were allowed to bring five things, what would you bring?
(They have to be things that you can easily carry around)

| Wool trench coat, Swiss Army Knife, fishing line, .30 Springfield scoped bolt-action, 200-round box of ammo...or is that not PC?

| Eh, it's relatively practical anyway. I'd have to know more though, as in, where is this forest located, and what are the weather patterns? |

Ever lived in a place other consider dangerous (besides your own mind)?

| I suppose some people feel the wilderness is dangerous. I spend several weeks out there every year. I enjoy getting out where you don't see a soul for weeks. Weird that places with lots of people or no people are both considered dangerous.
What do you think is more dangerous? A very crowded city with all it's crime or the wilderness where you have to be totally self-sufficient?

| I'd say the city is more dangerous. Wild animals are at least predictable in their behavior. But, I would not like to give up the comfort, culture, and convenience of the big city. Would you become a self-sufficient separatist survivalist instead? Are alliterations annoying?

| I’ve toyed with living a self-sufficient lifestyle for many years and have done so to some extent. I would never do it permanently. I enjoy keeping those skills sharply honed, should I be in a situation where I need them. There is also something very satisfying about living simply and being competent.
As for alliterations… I find them more amusing than annoying.
Are there any skills you hone even though there’s no real need to?
