Sleep or stretching - I hate taking Tylenol or Asprin or Advil... although if I have to, I'll take an Advil-esque tablet.

    See above.

    YES.

If you have such a craving do you have to sneak out of the house, since your wife is going vegetarian?

For what it's worth, I think you did the right thing there - if something's making you sick, avoid it. That's what 2 million years of evolution have taught us, so why fight it, eh? I can't eat pastry or blue freezies for the same reason.

Just cutting into this thread with a comment....

A good reason not to be vegetarian as B12 is obtained from animal sources. Active vegetarians, semi-vegetarians and vegans need to supplement. Many vegetarian meat substitutes (such as Just like Ground) fortify their products with this vitamin…. Continue on

By exploring this site, you will discover that Homeopathy -- a 200-year-old medical system that originated in Europe -- can effectively treat many of the chronic ailments and conditions that so many of us suffer from today, including: allergies, asthma, learning disorders, emotional disorders, arthritis, and the problematic symptoms of menopause. Homeopathy also has the ability to tackle most acute ailments, with a historical record of success in treating epidemics. It truly pays to learn more about Homeopathy -- the gentle, yet powerfully effective medicine!

Homeopathic medicine is a natural pharmaceutical science that uses various plants, minerals or animals in very small dose to stimulate the sick person's natural defenses. The medicines are individually chosen for their ability to cause in overdose the similar symptoms the person is experiencing. "Homoios" in Greek means similar and "pathos" means disease or suffering. Since one's symptoms are actually efforts of the organism to reestablish homeostasis or balance, it is logical to seek a substance that would, in overdose, cause the similar symptoms the person is experiencing. The medicines, thus, go with , rather than against, the person's natural defenses.

In essence, homeopathy is composed of two highly systematic methods: toxicology and casetaking. First, homeopaths find out the specific physical, emotional, and mental symptoms that various substances cause in overdose. Homeopathic texts have more detail on toxicology than any other source. Second, the homeopaths interview their patients in great detail to discover the totality of physical, emotional and mental symptoms the person is experiencing. The homeopath seeks to find a substance that would cause the similar symptoms the person has and then gives it in small, specially prepared dose.

Yes, especially with desserts- I hate it when I have a piece of cake and the icing turns my teeth blue.

What web site did you quote in your earlier post (#13539)?

Yes as well as seaweed and nutritional yeast. These are not items people will include in their diet unless they educate themselves before becoming vegetarian/ vegan. If you are active, you need your B vitamins.

Most people think of iron is the main problem in a meatless diet. I never found this to be the case (for myself) because of the amount of vitamin C I got in fruits and veggies. Vitamin C helps you absorb iron better as well as other vitamins and minerals. We are the only animal who cannot make our own Vitamin C (we have lost the ability)... so eat your veggies! (and fruit).

As North Americans we eat too much protein. Yes it's needed... but not so much! The real challenge for most vegans (and some vegetarians) is consuming enough calories without eating a lot of junk food, not getting enough protein.

I always found it funny that "health nuts" fight with chocolate and chip cravings more than meat cravings. Who would have thought?
