| Well.. I have the number of Valentina, but I guess she won't be too happy about it. And she's a bit young for you (OK, not as I am, but still).
But wait... is age such a problem? |

| I suppose it depends.
Has anyone seen War of the Worlds?
I've just received an email saying that it's quite good until Spielberg remembers that this is a Spielberg film. Apparently worth seeing for all maiming and destruction at the beginning. |

(But a friend of mine saw it last week and thought it was 'ok' and that the ending was rather predictable. I know Zelda saw it too and wasn't too impressed. )
I'm out of reading, could you give me a good book tip?

I think it sounds great. I'm planning on reading it then going up to New York and getting tickets for it on Broadway this fall.
Hmmm... Grrls trip to NYC? Anyone??? |

| Do you have to be a grrl to come along? What is a grrl anyway? Is this a new species?
A bumper crop of questions from 4 consonants. |

A bumper crop of questions from 4 consonants. | You don't have to be a GRRL to come along. You just have to truly enjoy the company of women. And participate in the ritual carrying on and tromps up and down the shops along 5th Avenue, tag along and help carry packages when shopping in Canal Street, and of course getting cheap Tix for all the great Gal shows on Broadway.
Would you like to come along to see NYC for fun?
P.S. There are also frequent stops for liquid libations as the will (and the tired feet) desire! (Grrl = Women of significant confidence and personal power) |

| I'm always willing to carry on with girls. So long as it's not inherently dangerous to my person I am quite willing to tromp.
I'd love to visit NYC. I hear it's like London, only bigger and in the US.
So when is the trip? |

So when is the trip? | The date is still under consideration and selection. Near future, early fall.
I found touring London much more extensive than in New York. I think because the sites in London are spread out further. In the weeks I spent in London and don't think I made a dent in the city with all there was to see.
Do you have a favorite world city to recommend for touring? |

| In the UK: - Edinburgh is quite nice.
Glasgow is also quite nice. [in fact I would recommend most of Scotland to people who are touring.] - I found Liverpool to be surprisingly nice.
- I'm in London [again] for the weekend sometime in August - but you've already been there.
It's been a while since I've been abroard, but I've got Prague, Riga and Budapest on my list of places to visit. Everyone raves about those places, but go soon as the prices are starting to go up.
Where are you thinking of going to? |

Where are you thinking of going to? | I am definitely thinking about going to Edinburgh. I have it in my sites next... I was torn between going to Ireland or Scotland, but decided on Scotland first. My son is going to Greater Manchester/Derbyshire in the UK this summer and I am trying to see if I can travel up to Scotland while he's there, then return back home to the states with him after his tour.
Where are YOU? |

FLOWER OF SCOTLAND
(translation by John Angus Macleod)
O Fhlu\ir na h-Albann,
cuin a chi\ sinn
an seo\rsa laoich
a sheas gu ba\s 'son
am bileag feo\ir is fraoich,
a sheas an aghaidh
feachd uailleil Iomhair
's a ruaig e dhachaidh
air chaochladh smaoin?
Na cnuic tha lomnochd
's tha duilleach Foghair
mar bhrat air la\r,
am fearann caillte
dan tug na seo\id ud gra\dh,
a sheas an aghaidh
feachd uailleil Iomhair
's a ruaig e dhachaigh
air chaochladh smaoin.
Tha 'n eachdraidh du\inte
ach air di\ochuimhne
chan fheum i bhith,
is faodaidh sinn e\irigh
gu bhith nar Ri\oghachd a-ri\s
a sheas an aghaidh
feachd uailleil Iomhair
's a ruaig e dhachaidh
