| I love it. Hikes and such are a lot of fun for me.
Have you ever tried Google Desktop?

| Not yet. I tried their search and decided I didn't want to know that much about my machines.
Do you like it?

| I do. The gadgets are really cool. Let's me keep track of a lot of stuff quickly and easily. The desktop search is pretty neat, too.
Do you like playing around with new software?

| Aside from the fact that it's my job, Yes.
How much new software do you suppose there is that is actually useful? Or perhaps the question is, why is there never a piece of software that does everything you want?

| Depends on your definition of useful. Yes, I do find some programs that are pretty useful. Keeping a lot of information at hand is usually what I want most. Seems like every now and then some cool software comes out. Google 'Wubi' if you haven't heard of it already. Neat idea.
Seems like most people either enjoy working in a command interface environment, or hate it with a passion. Which camp are you in? (or in between?)

| I cut my teeth on IBM MVS/TSO and VM/CMS, Univac 1100 series, and Unix. Never met a command line I didn't like.
Which interface do you prefer?

| I grew up using DOS based systems, but I changed to regular Windows pretty young. Now that I'm starting to get into it more, I'm making the transition into Linux now (Ubuntu Feisty Fawn), so I'm using the terminal provided with it when needed.
What OS do you use? Pros, Cons?

What OS do you use? Pros, Cons? | ahh, that just answered my other question for you.
Mac OSX. It's cool, I have a partition for linux on my computer, but the download was corrupted and now launcheing it gets me a load screen and crash.
what do I do >.<

Assuming you are actually asking another question under that one........I see from your profile that you are 19. This being the case, you probably don't need to run anything in particular except for games and word processing. You are probably more interested in concepts and skills Therefore, "free" is the best way to go to learn new stuff. Free would be Linux, MySQL, Apache, etc.
If you want more rambling, PM me to avoid having me bore the general fencing populace with all this.

Why do people insist on treating OSs as if they were a religion?

what do I do >.< | Download a fresh copy and try again. Even better, go get a 5 year old used computer at a yard sale or something for the price of an epee and make it your Linux box, fileserver, and audio server. That way you gain a server and avoid screwing up your main computer.
Same question as post above!

Have you ever wanted to start your own religion?

| Yes. As an anthropology major, I once took a random collection of objects and assigned them all meanings based on a ritual I wanted to perform. I even managed to make their random relationship on the table become meaningful. At that moment, I realized that I could start a religion from almost nothing.
Do you mean you have never wanted computer geeks to murmur sweet nothings about nibbles, bytes, hard drives, I/O, RAM, and recursive processes in your ear?

| Of course I would love that! I would even put it on a CD so I could listen to it every night and sell it as a sleeping aid.
Byte me geek-boy!
When geek moves out from his parent's basement is it called an uninstall?

| It depends.. If he takes the means of support with him, it's called a system crash.
What would be the ideal question to ask next?

| If a computer crashes in the forest and no body hears it, do you still have to close all the windows?

What is the coldest weather you have ever been in?
