| Christmas is the season of giving. You receive gifts as a result of other's desire to give. It's merely an unavoidable "side-effect".
Just remember, there are hundreds of millions of people living in complete, utter poverty. Many haven't eaten for days, are drinking unsanitary water, and have no access to health care. Sick, hungry, cold, and brutalized by war, these people would give their lives so that their children could sleep on the cold cement floor in your unheated garage and eat the food scraps that your family throws out each day.
I'm not trying to bum you out or criticizing you. It's not your fault. You're still young and our society continues to cram the need for more and more "things" down your throat. We have all felt the uncontrollable "need" for this and that only to realize that we don't even really have a use for it.
Just remember that when somebody give you something, they are giving it to you because they were thinking of you, as long as those were good thoughts, you should be happy.
