The comfort factor

Is comfort a factor in buying your gear? Ie, do you base part of your purchase on how comfy a jacket/pair of breeches/mask is?

It would be a factor for me on a mask, but not on jackets/breeches. Im not going to notice how comfy or uncomfy my breeches/jacket are in the middle of a bout.

For me comfort is a factor because for the first few points unless I'm wearing comfortable gear I get distracted. After the frist few hits I don't care either way though.

Comfort does take a factor. My first set of FIE equipment was France Lame, and it wasn't quite cut right for me. All the holes (head, wrists, legs) were tight, and it wasn't fun. The worst part was that the petard was a little too tight for comfort, too. (Unless you like the feeling of something grabbing your crotch every time you lunge.)
