| Foreign Bands What's some awesome foreign bands? As in, they don't speak English. That Norweigan band who played the background music for a flash video I linked to recently is an example. Also, I just discovered that TATU is bilingual. (If you remember them.) (I realize the opportunity for humor in the last unparantheticized sentence.)
I only ask because I'm interested in foreign languages and stuff, and it's neat to hear pronunciation. (Especially of sounds not in English common in other languages, such as hard/soft ch and sh, different "r" sounds, etc.) |

| Manau- best french rap group, their lyrics are about druids, mysticism, and other cool stuff that no one would ever think to rap about
Maná- really good mexican rock group, a combination of salsa and rock
Wizo- german punk band that took me forever to sing to because german is hard to pronouce by just listening to it
these are my favorite foreign bands and if anyone knows of any more, i would love to learn about them because i love rock bands in different languages |

| Spanish:
Mana (on Santana's Supernatural, they play "Corazon Espinado")
Nek ("Laura no esta" is good)
Elvis Crespo
Unamuno
Son by Four
Before they crossed over, I liked both Shakira and Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin's "Copa de la Vida" is one of my favorite songs.

| I know a few:
Laibach
Rammstein
Ascii Disko
I don't believe that Brujeria sing in English at all.
The MadCapsule markets sing in a mixure of Japanese and English - sometimes switching in the middle of a track.
Can you be more specific? I'm not sure what you mean by your question. Do you mean bands that only sing in their native language or do you mean bands that sing in a mixture of languages (Ascii Disko tracks vary between English, French and German)?
For obvious reasons there are loads more. |

They have many songs from various artists. One of my particular favorites is "Chuaigh Me 'Na Rosann" by Scartagalen (Celtic) and "Kothbiro" by Ayub Ogada (African).
They come from other more specific complilations. There are samples on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...roduct-details

| My Girlfriend has been listening to a lot of In Extremo ( http://www.inextremo.de) lately... Angry (or maybe its just the German-ness) German band who wear kilts and play bag pipes... fairly interesting actually
I happen to like Wolfshiem, most of their stuff is in english but Künstliche Welten is one of my favorite songs by them, and thats pure german...
Good local celtic stuff I like: Halali ( http://www.yellowcarmusic.com/halali/), Laura Cortese, Flynn Cohen, Hanneke Cassel, and Lissa Schneckenburger (all four of them make up halali, but they do individual stuff as well)... the songs are in english, or instrumental... but the english has fun accents.
If I think of more later, I'll edit this post.

| Yeah, what's wrong with them?
Evanescence is just doing what Nightwish has been doing a lot longer.

For more info on Nightwish look here. This sort of music was laughed at back in the day (the day wasn't that long ago; I am not even that old!). The only good thing about Nightwish is the singer...
I find it hard to believe that I would even have to justify my point of view with this band. |

| No Evanescence doesn't sound like Nightwish, Evanescence sounds like Nightwish overproduced and made for a US market.
