| Although I disagree with the description of their sound I think we both agree that Evanesence are bollocks.
Nightwish is Folkmusic umm sorry metal. If Folkies strapped an amp to their fiddles and swapped Arran sweaters for leather. I mean, they even look] naff.
Apart from the lead singer... |

| Manu Chao is pretty good, Spanish, French and English. http://www.manuchao.net/
In a similar vein as nightwish there is Mortiis http://www.mortiis.com/index.php
And let me just state that this is in no way an endorsement of Mortiis, I just find them so bad that they are entertaining in a totally different way. |

| Trivia moment: Mortiis himself sometimes does a stint in the advice column of UK magazine of the weird; Bizarre.
One of my friends snogged Mortiis in a London night club. She say she never recognisd him without his make up on. |

| How could anyone take advice from a man who wrote a song called "Smell the Witch"?
Still at least if his music career doesn't work out he'll always have something to fall back on.
another good band, Plastilina mosh http://www.plastilina-mosh.com/ I think they are out of Monterey Mexico but I could be wrong.

| I caught a Rammstein show in Seattle a few years ago. I was so stoked to see them since I had heard about the awesome pyrotechnics they employ during their show. When my friends and I got to the venue we found out that the local fire chief denied their pyrotechnics permit at the last minute. I ended up seeing one of the few non-pyrotechnic Rammstein shows. They still put on an awesome set. They ended by covering The Ramones "Pet Cemetary"

| Sorry Red, I accidentally clicked on Edit rather than quote. I still this thread open on another tab - so I restored it.
I was going to say that I don't think that Mortiis takes himself very seriously [at least not anymore]. |

If you mean bands that sing in their native language (ie. not english) my contribution from Sweden will be Kent.
They've released some of their songs/albums in english ( Samples here!) but it's NOT the same thing at all. The lyrics are much better in swedish.
There are loads of other bands but most of them sings in english. Kent was the only ones I came to think of off the top of my mind.

| Wow, thanks guys. I thought this thread would die.
a) Evanescence does have some major flaws, but after you listen to it for awhile, you can appreciate it. Like rap.
b) As to the questions...I don't care what language it's in, or whether or not they do stuff in English, I just like hearing stuff in other languages. Thanks for the ones proposed already. I don't have sound where I am now, but I'll see if I can find some of these suggestions in a bit. |
