| How to qualify for JO's if you messed up in the qualifiers Hi, for the under 20 men's foil, I was sick but decided to fence anyway. I ended up 17th out of 44 and didn't qualify for the JO's. Is there any way to qualify through an appeal or some other process? I have qualified the year before. |

| yeah, a time machine. Seriously though, it means that you were not good enough for the USFA to worry about, and you dont deserve to fence at that tournament. Its not called the junior olympic championships for nothin. With that said, I understand your pain, and I didnt qualify for JO's on my first year, so I know what it feels like. You might be able to appeal, but they dont really have a reason to let you in. Mon ami SOL.

| If you hadn't fenced in the qualifiers and had remained home sick you might have had a ground to petition in, given that you had qualified the previous year. But, because you fenced through it and failed to qualify, you've given up your right to appeal - better luck next year and for summer nats. |

| I suppose he still has a chance to become an autoqual at the Overland Park NAC.

| I would not count on the auto qualifying. If you didn't qualify at the local level it is going to be really hard to qualify with the only other path available.
I suggest spending more time drilling and prepare to do better next year. |

| Well, we don't know how good this kid is, and we don't know if he was already planning to go to the NAC. That said, the autoqual is really the only avenue left if he really wants to fence in Texas.
