FIE - separate events for lefty and righty? What's this about FIE considering separating lefties and righties into separate events? -
Yeah that's what I hear. It's Mr. Roch decided it's another way to make fencing come into the media more. By making double the amount of events we already have by seperating it by hands, we are bound to get double more Olympic coverage.

Array You might not be serious but if Roch sees this thread HE will be serious.
Roch: I think we should screw fencers over even more than we have already.
Poor Executive Guy(PEG): Why should we do that sir?
Roch: Because I'm bored.
PEG: Won't that send fencing into a state of disarray and destroy what we've worked for over the last few years, sir?
Roch: Yes, but I'm bored.
Fencing Community as a whole: I'm so cool; put me in a fridge and it gets colder!
I'm Australian and that makes me MANLY! -

etc. No MS LH??? Discrimination!!! Of course, since you have WS LH, I may forgive you. We could even have three sets! LH, RH and mixed hand (where we compete against each other)! Or ambidextrous (sp?)! The possibiltys are endless. Unfortunately, doubling or tripling an infitissimally small amount still yields an infitisimally (watch my speling deteriorate!) small amount. *sigh* Right. Anyway, I should really be studying... Array Yes! Perhaps they'll follow that up with separating each event into tall-fencer and short-fencer categories! Won't that make for a nice, easily-run NAC and Summer Nationals? -

Array next we'll seperate it into black and white, and pimply and non pimply. We'll have a seperate division for poor people, and a special division for people who use BF blues. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

How can you have "mixed-handed" events? What if two lefties made the final? Then it wouldn't be mixed anymore! -

Your coach has let you do that? I've seen fencers get black-carded for less! Boo I thought this was okay if the joy buzzer was deactivated after the handshake. Gotta get back into the rule book, I guess. "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never . . . never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense." Churchill, 1941 -
