Refereeing software, under development Hi everybody,
For some time now I've been developing a new international fencing software solution, free of cost. I've already announced this in some European forums and would like you to know this as well! With my Planche tournament software I've had some bad luck, loosing large amounts of code twice. My Arbitre refeeing software however is progressing more steadily, and I have released some increasingly useful previews. If you don't need to e.g. correct the score you could use it for training bouts already.
The software supports a broad range of mobile devices, including Pocket PC and Palm OS PDAs as well as Symbian OS powered mobile phones (Series 60 and UIQ), and soon versions for Java MIDP and the Windows Smartphone will be available too.
What's special about this software is the ability to exchange data in a device-independent way both between devices running Arbitre software and to the Planche .NET tournament software, so that we can all save us the time and effort of writing down and typing in bout results into the tournament software. And not to forget, Arbitre (as well as Planche .NET) is not limited to a single country and supports multiple languages.
If you would like to support this initiative, please spread the word and share your thoughts on design, user interface, installation, your required functions etc.
Thanks for your support,
Andreas Faerber Planche.de Project -
Just posted the first preview of Arbitre LE for Java-capable cellphones.
The timer should work, the score is however still missing, I'll add that in the next days.
Regards,
