In reality there isn't much chance of either sporting equipment or
re-enactment equipment being banned.
The real issue here is selling 'sharps' to the general public.
Already in England and Scotland re-enactment swords/daggers/pole-arms/etc
are considered 'theatrical props' rather than weapons and fencing equipment
is considered 'sporting equipment'. The police act in a reasonable manner
and nobody's going to arrest a group of people dressed in plaid and
refighting a battle for the local tourist industry, or even some people
giving a demonstration of period fencing.
No-one sane is looking to ban people doing legitimate stuff, the problem
with the Scottish Assembly is that they've got a taste for banning stuff and
have proved unable to write their legislation in a manner that makes good
law.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe
Barbeques on fire by chalets past the headland
I've watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off Newborough
All this will pass like ice-cream on the beach
Time for tea
