| I was there last night and the pictures do not do it justice by any means. There's so much room, so many strips, suspended reels(which works much better than a regular pully system) it's fantastic. Even the bathrooms were hugely spacious. By far the best place to fence that I've ever been.

| Ditto. They really put everything into this one. Favero boxes and reels with new timings, and I can't say 'grounded strips' too many times. Also, the level of people who show up is just wonderful. I've never had so many fencers better than myself willing to fence myself and others outside of a tourney. In the Boston area? GO!

| Just wanted to let everyone know...
We (The epee fencers at the club) are trying to make Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday the big epee nights.
On friday nights (possibly starting next week) we will be running 'mock' tournaments, we are going to try to do one large pool then DEs... no ratings will be awarded yet as it isn't a 'proper' tournament... though this may change as the season continues. but come down... it should be fun.
One thing I forgot to mention in the initial post... David went out of his way to put together an excellent Audio/Visual system in the club, complete with LCD projector, DVD/VCR , speakers on either side of the salle (we have two 5'9" speakers coming soon... yes I mean five foot nine inch tall speakers), the other night we had the CSTV footage of Div I nationals playing in the corner, and when that isn't on, Dave's iPod is hooked up providing background music for fencing.
All in all, good times...
A couple articles in local papers about the new space:

| Does anyone know if epee fencers will be there next week? I'm back in Mass for a bit and would like to drop by and get some practice, but it's a bit of a drive for me if I'm not sure people will be there. What are the floor fees? |

| Ben,
I'll be there Wednesday and Thursday for sure, Tuesday is a possibillity. Monday seems to be becoming a prominent foil night. Tuesday and Wednesday were the best epee nights, Wednesday being tops. People in attendance on Wednesday:
Tom Turner - B04
Myself - B04
Ian MacEachern -A04
Adrian Martin - A03?
Arjun Tasker (showed up for lesson, didn't fence, though I hope he will this week) - B04?
Mike Eskin - C04
Yasser Mahmoud - C04
as well as I think about 10 more epee fencers whose names I'm either not sure how to spell or whose rating I don't know.
Floor fees are $10 for the night.
People started to show up around 7 - 7:30 last week and hung around till a little after 10.

| That looks fantastic, and the quality of the épéists is similarly impressive. I'd go tonight, (I'm in Boston to catch a plane), but I don't think it'd quite work out. (Not sure my family would understand why I have to bring my fencing stuff on the trip....) |
